Located in the Caribbean, Haiti occupies the Hispaniola Island which has a long history of destructive earthquakes. Considered as one of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti ranks 149th on Human Development Index’s 182 countries and deemed as a country that is economically vulnerable by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Due to the 2010 Haiti earthquake, over 200,000 people died, 300,000 were injured and over 1 million were made homeless. Several global companies as well as institutions and organizations, following the incidence, quickly reacted by sending supplies and help. One of the companies that take part in helping the Haitian is the global sales company Cydcor.

The global sales firm, who is renowned for providing outsourced, face-to-face sales teams that help companies increase their profit and sales, donated 25 large boxes filled with clothing, shoes, to first aid supplies to survivors in Haiti through a charitable organization, Haiti Gospel Mission (HGM) which is based in Despinos, Haiti. Senior VP of Cydcor operations, Vera Quinn said that the people at Cydcor were humbled by the terrible tragedy in Haiti and wanted to help out. They were happy to be able to send items that will go to the people who lost everything in the devastating earthquake. It was the owner of a successful independently-owned Cydcor sales office who happened to work in Haiti through HGM that made Cydcor aware of the specific needs in the country.

Cydcor is a leading global provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams to diverse clients from various types of industry that range from telecommunications, office products, retail energy to financial services. The company works with a network of independently owned sales offices providing customers with access to nearly 3,000 sales professionals and 200 offices in North America.
