Chewing gum give so much fun to us. However, there is always two side of a coin. Do you know the positive and negative of chewing gum? Chewing gum habit may make our breath fresher. It also could divert us from smoking behavior. But some plastic surgeons actually demand us to stay away from the chewing gum. Chewing gum could form wrinkles in our face.
Many of my patients of plastic surgery who are enthusiasts of chewing gum, has a pattern of wrinkles around their mouths. That is why, chewing gum could cause wrinkles in the face. Although until now no studies could provide the link between gum-lined with wrinkles on the face, but this issue has erupted in cyber world.
But for some plastic surgeons, chewing gum can damage the muscle tissue around the mouth. When we are chewing gum, there is a movement we do repeatedly. Movement is then made which then imprint lines around our mouths. Because the muscles are asked to perform one movement over and over again to form a construction strokes. Construction strokes that arise due to muscle movements repeated will damage some of the skin tissue which then contributed to the decrease in skin elasticity.
However, there is a positive point from chewing gum habit, it makes you concentrate better. Even chewing gum can reduce your stress. We should enjoy the bubble gum in natural limits. So the possibility of the muscles around the mouth to slack can be minimized. Just chew the gum when you are get stressed or want to get a fresh breath back.
