Who has never heard of Las Vegas? Located in Nevada, the city has been featured in numerous big screen movies, television series, commercials and printed ads, to name just a few. Although the city is located in the desert part of Clark County, you will not be able to differ it from other major modern cities in the States. The weather is mostly sunny, dry and a bit hot, with little snow at the end of the year. In summer, the temperature could reach up to 38 degree Celsius. Nonetheless, visitors can easily avoid the hot summer sun by entering air-conditioned shopping malls, indoor entertainment spots or Casino. Due to the various entertainment areas visitors could visit, people in Las Vegas proudly name their city, Entertainment Capital of the World.
There are various things you can do in Vegas. But perhaps the first and foremost thing is to ask a passerby to help you take a photo of yours under the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign which was erected in the 1950s at the South End of the Strip. The famous sign has been featured in many movies, one of the most recently being Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
Afterwards, continue your journey walking through the famous Las Vegas Strip. The Strip is located around Paradise and Winchester, stretching more than 6 kilometers in Las Vegas Boulevard South. Its north end part being the Sahara Avenue and the south being Russel Road. There are numerous hotels, casinos and resorts up and running in this area. Some of the well-known resorts that are located in Vegas are: the Bellagio, The Venetian, Caesar’s Palace, MGM Grand, The Mirage, and Casino Royale, to name just a few. One of the best times to visit the Strip is during New Year’s Eve, where tourists and local residents would flock the streets to celebrate the beginning of a new year.
Other than gaming, visitors could enjoy shopping spree or a tee time in a nearest golf resort. Shopping malls are also plentiful; at the time this article was written, Fashion Show Mall being one of them. Public transportation is relatively easy to access. There are Las Vegas Monorails, free Trams, taxis and free shuttles. And do not forget to try hop on the Vegas Double Decker buses known as The Deuce, where you can enjoy a ride around the city for just 2 dollars one-way. So, the next time you are planning to take few days off, you may want to consider visiting Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World.
